The effects of climate change are causing destructive weather patterns all over the world, and millions of people are being affected. The loss of agricultural lands that are used for farming is becoming very distressing, and food shortages threaten the stability of billions of people all over the world. Some people are taking part in protests against big corporations that have a big hand in producing carbon emissions that are destroying the environment. You can do your part to save the planet by choosing eco-friendly options when you buy household products.

Beeswax Wrap

If you use plastic film wrap often in your kitchen, you should opt-in for beeswax wrap instead. Every ingredient in beeswax food wrap is found naturally in the environment and decomposes entirely without leaving any trace chemicals that can pollute the environment. These beeswax wraps work just as well as the non-environmentally friendly kinds you commonly find in the supermarket. Best of all, they are reusable for up to one year. All you have to do is wash them with soap and water and let them dry until the next time you need them.

Washable Organic Dish Towels

Try using organic washable cotton towels instead of paper towels in your kitchen. These are made from cotton that hasn’t been grown using harmful pesticides, fertilizers or chemicals. They are manufactured according to the global standard for textiles made from organic fibres, which is known as the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and are certified as such. Simply toss them into the washing machine when they get dirty, dry them and use over and over again.

Reusable Water Bottles

One of the best things you can do to cut down on plastic waste is to buy a reusable water bottle. About sixty million plastic water bottles end up in landfills and burners every single day. These can also end up in oceans, seas, rivers and lakes, and they are a hazard to certain kinds of marine life. They also contain the harmful chemical known as bisphenol A, or BPA. Research has proven that it can cause cardiovascular disease, problems with infertility and male impotence. Use a reusable water bottle and do your part to cut down on the presence of this dangerous chemical in our environments.
